Character question.

This might have been asked before in a different context, or maybe its just common knowledge and im just stupid, but can anyone tell me is the character saved locally on the hard drive or is it saved in some online database. In other words, would I be okay re-installing dayz without my character being deleted.

Pretty sure it is on the hive, otherwise anybody could just use a backup file to give them self great gear or teleport them somewhere.

i'm not sure myself since it also has a file of my characters in my documents and im not gonna try to delete it haha

I did already. It's okay nothing gets deleted. The file in your documents is afaik just for your character to show up correctly in your main menu and also your default respawn character optimization is saved there.

Everything is server side. Once you reinstall and join a server it should remake anything local you deleted except for your custom menu options.
