I run a combo with 560ti and i5 2500k 3,3 ghz and I get very poor performance in cities. 

Are they planning on optimizing SA?

I'm pretty sure they will be optimizing it later.

 

From what I've heard, the code is written so it can be optimized a lot in the future.

 

Also, check out some optimization guides on ze internets. Just search for "DayZ SA optimization guide".

 

There is one on Reddit which is pretty good.

Yeah, it will be in the future.

 

At the moment they're just concentrating on smoothing out bugs, and getting the game running. Once we progress farther into the Alpha, I believe they will start optimizing.

There is an FPS guide in the new player section. However despite my increase with over all frames (48 in the wilderness) It gets reduced to an average of 16-20 frames in cities...Rustles me softly a little bit.
