Cannot save default character?

Hi guys, as the title says I'm having trouble saving the character I create, it just defaults back to the woman who the game loads with! Also, how do I change my in game username?

your name = steamname

 

so change your steamname in the options

If you are asking if you can change your name ingame to a different one besides steam username, you can't (yet?).

As for the character, this may be a bug as i have not seen a similar complaint. Report it at feedback.dayzgame.com
