Animations for inventory actions!

Recommended Posts

Hey there!

So, animations for inventory actions. The hell that means, right?

Well basically, for example, currently if you have your compass put in your jeans, and then you take it from hotbar and put it back, it'll look like you're putting on your back. I think the animation should depend on where the item is actually stored in your inventory. If it's in your jeans, it would look like you take/put it in your jeans, or jacket/shirt/hoodie whatever and so on.

Another thing with backpacks. Whenever you open your inventory, your backpack should be closed. When you try to open it your character would actually take the backpack off his back, crouch, and then unzip it (makes sense, duh). It would obviously take a bit of time, but it would look hella cool.

What you guys think?

I think you shouldn't write centered :D :D

The animation for backpacks would be really nice though! I'd make it a lot more realistic! IMHO it's stupid that I can put a handgun/medkit in my backpack and pull it out in seconds. That's not how it works :D

EDIT : We should still be able to see what's in our backpacks though. But to interact with the Items inside we should need to put it down.

Point taken, no more centered text :D

I don't think you should be able to see what's inside backpack unless you open it up. Let's say if you pick up someone else's backpack, you shouldn't be able to know whats inside unless you open it and have a look.

Yeah, I'd really like that. The coolest thing would be if we could dump our backpacks somewhere if needed but they 'd have to be restart persistent

I'm having my fingers crossed you'll be able to bury backpacks, making them persistents like tents were in the mod and a bit harder to spot.

Well, burrying them would be too hard to spot I guess. But hide a green backpack in a forrest, no one will ever find it. :)

Except if the grass is not rendered in. Easy to spot then.

If they are really close maybe, but the bushes and trees would block the sight. Far away items "sink" in the ground making it hard/impossible to spot them.
