I hope those tips coupled with the tips of Overdosed (http://forums.dayzgame.com/index.php?/topic/156291-some-wisdom-ive-collected-as-a-new-player-for-other-new-players/) will help you guys - Dont loot in cities. Only in small towns (after checking if theres a living soul or not) - When you spawn and you hear your guy doing the reload gun audio (even if the screen is dark) - go prone + click enter + draw your weapon. - You never know who can be around - About logging out - Never log out inside a house - too big risks when you log in. Just walk away from the town, hide in bushes and log out. - The most important thing to find in the first hour of playing is to find a can opener/screwdriver/knife to open cans and a bottle for water. After that you start searching for weapons/meds. - The M4 is better for the moment as theres more ammo for it (at least what i saw) Also the scopes for the M4 are less damaged. I found Acog and other pristine but for the Mosin only badly damaged. - If youre switching weapon (for example you have a Mosin but found a M4). Take the ammo for the mosin with you and drop them somewhere in the forest. Dont drop them near the weapons. You never know- maybe you have a shadow following you... - The sound system is broken as you could hear. If you hear a zombie that means you get closer to a town and you can hear it miles away. Same thing go for Opening sodas and reloading. You can hear a player do it in the entire town (but not in a city) - Get your bearings pretty fast. When you know where you are - youre the king. - If your inventory is full but your hungry/thirsty try to eat and drink everything you find. Dont touch your inventory. - Dont bring a defib if you dont have a buddy with you. It take 4 slots and is useless if you play solo - When attacking a zombie with something else than an Axe, try to get behind and smash the head. - Stack up on morphines/epi/painkillers if you can. They are pretty rare - If the doors are open as stated before- the town was raided. Apparently the servers restarts after 4 hours. But to my knowledge its not true. - If contact made. Let the player know youre watching him but dont let him see you. Starts speaking to him and try to know if hes friendly or not. If so - trade - Always have something to trade/give. Something spare. Like a second screwdriver or another compass. It helps - Some players are saying - Everyone is an enemy. If you see a single guy - try to talk to him and ask him if he needs something. If you see a group - run away. Players in group tend to attack more often than single players. I hate to admit it, but that part is true. If I am by myself or with 1 other buddie I am friendly, I help everyone I see.
