Shooting on site - Bandits

Recommended Posts

Hi Everyone,

Iv just been killed after several hours of helping people I met with food and medical supplies, I'll try not to rant.

After meeting two guys in Cherno and saying our hellos, "I'm friendly" one of them shoots me dead.

I would never ask to have the pvp taken out of Dayz... thats just crazy.

What I was wondering was, is there anything being done to make it a harder decision to kill someone.

As of right now I will be killing anyone I see because there is no reason not to.
I believe everyone will become bandits unless there are more reasons NOT to kill someone than to kill.

I like the loot damage system -  Will it be improved to the point that a damaged backpack for example will only hold half its capacity. A ruined backpack works fine at the moment.

In the Mod bandits would get bandit head gear - Will this or something like it be returning?

What if something happened to your character over time...or after you killed a certain amount of people???

I'm sure Rocket and the team have thought of this and probably have something in the works. Just wanted to see what others thought.

Do you shoot on site or do you try and communicate?

Sorry in advance if I run into you. Over dying because I'm nice.

if you have a weapon:

every guy without a weapon is friendly

if you dont have a weapon:

99% of the ppl try to kill you, even if they only have melee weapon

There's nothing to fix. Despite all the "friendlies" who post on the forums, in reality the vast majority of players play this game to kill other players, myself included.

I play hero to people that ask for help but when I run into someone randomly I retreat inside the nearest building. I let them go about their day in peace unless they are stupid enough to follow me into whatever building I took up a defensive position in. I will either kill them or die trying as they only time I allowed myself to be held up I got executed anyway.

I don't think the game is being made for people play deathmatch in. I dont think anything is broken and so nothing needs fixing. I just think that there could be a way to make people think a bit longer about shooting others.

That seems like a smart way to play. But even after trying to help people I get shot.

I only shoot in self defense, and have always had the hero skin in Dayz, Breaking point and all the other branches.

I simply don't find any joy in killing people. I find my joy in talking, trading, grouping and so on with other players, even if it's as brief as saying hello or simply doing the hand gesture.
I do kill in self defense when it's needed, but even then if it can be avoided I will avoid it. I've had people shoot at me, and I've simply walked away. Sure he tried to kill me, but I usually talk to them in direct asking why he shot at me before I leave.

I do in all honesty enjoy a firefight occasionally, but killing people just to kill people is not fun.
I never liked the snipers that don't even loot corpses back in Dayzmod, and I especially don't like the people who feel the need to insult people they shot in the back, boasting about their amazing skill of shooting unarmed people from behind.

Too bad most of my friends that I usually team up with have the KoS banditry attitude.
I try to steer them away from it when I can, but to each his own I suppose.
