Damaged Items

Hi guys.

I've been playing the alpha for few days now, and I was also intrested in all of the devblogs and everything.

I know that now when you kill a player, his items are getting destroyed so less people would shoot on sight like in Dayz mod.

This idea is great but I think there should be an option (maybe with certain items) to fix the items, since the damage system makes the looting possible only from the ground and not from players.

This should never happen. Its the lesser of two evils at work. You should never be able to loot from a player if they died to another player. Maybe zombies should damage 50% of the person's items. I actually just got done playing after being killed by two guys at NEAF.  One of them took a few shots at me so I ducked into a building and waited. I could have easily chickened out and logged but I don't care about the gear I found. I've even got bored and suicided in the mod just to hunt for more gear. I figured at most, I would die damaging some his gear. Ended up killing one of them and died to the other. My one consolation in getting randomly killed by some douche is that maybe some of my gear or the guy I killed's gear ends up being unusable by them. The other side of that coin is when someone attacks you and you survive but have damaged gear. Bummer but your reward is that you are alive and the other player is not.

But don't you think that killing players is also part of the game? 

I think the most fun part of the game is getting some high level gear and fighting some guys. The airfields are full of people who want to fight, so it's a risk of dying each time you get there, that's the whole point. If you won't be able to loot someone's gear after killing him, then all the PVP would go down and a big part of the game, big part of the community would be dissapointed in my opinion.

I don't actually think that PvP will go down just because you can't loot the body anymore, but i like the current system of item degredation and looting a body.

 

What i don't like is that killing another player currently has no real consequences, ok your humanity drops but that does nothing.

I think there should be some kind of mechanic to punish people, who consistently shoot large number of players, after a while.
