Blood Type Whiners - You don't have what it will take.

Recommended Posts

Did you know you can have your buddy draw your blood for you, which you can then save for an emergency? Take some blood when you are healthy, then regenerate the lost blood by eating and drinking well over time. Keep the blood bag in your medkit and be prepared! The concerns about a complicated medical system are misguided. People lack innate creativity and a will to survive these days!

The mod was too PvP dependent. I think a 1/3 player versus environment, 1/3 player versus zombie, and 1/3 player versus player ratio would be great. We can already see awesome interactions from people holding up others for blood. People are spending far more time carefully looking for loot as well. They are trying to stay healthy while avoiding zombies and banditry while cautiously interacting with potential new friends. It's adding DEPTH. With new concerns there is less of just running to the NWA, gearing up, heading back south to kill on sight. When there are a complex range of medical issues that can arise you can't be prepared for everything. You may have to actually trade with others when someone falls ill because you don't have the required kit. Use the walkie-talkie (when implemented) and start broadcasting for another group who has those precious antibiotics you couldn't find and set up a dangerous trade. Have you no imagination? I trust where this is heading. DayZ's future is bright. If folks just want to slap a blood bag on a friend and go kill others with their barracks loot then I won't miss them when the more thoughtful medical systems come online anyways.

I like the additional variety and using my brain out there. I want to kill some bandits, fight infection, overcome dehydration after a long hike, agonize over using my only tetracycline on a friend (what happens when I get sick!?), and maybe even holding up other worn down survivors to get what I desperately need. I want to call out over the radio for knowledge from someone who can identify my symptoms (with a better UI to illustrate what my body is telling me)!

If you are looking for a different experience, Rocket WILL disappoint you. For everyone else, see you in Chernarus, Comrades!

It's a small mental hurdle to find the solution. God help them if the shit really does hit the fan one day.

i've found it very easy to get a medkit up including all types of pills, vitamins, painkillers, blood bags, syringes, blood tests, water purification, and etc. i don't see why anyone else should have an issue with this. also, the fact that you have to take your own blood to fill a blood bag and keep your energy levels up to refill your blood is very nice.

However; one thing i find very lacking, only spawning in the red medkit, is bandages. granted, i can rip up great heaps of shirts as i travel through towns, but my OCD is leaving me wanting a bandage.

I've found some of the single use green Israeli type laying around, but yeah, it would be nice to find some sterile gauze bandages outside of the medkits.

Would be kinda cool if there was some sort of knife in the first aide kit.....knife, scalpal, razor blade. etc.  Could be helpful later on.
