JFord 4 Posted December 20, 2013 First of all I wanna say that I am quite new player. I played mod few times but the bugs and glitches just made it very frustrating to play. In my opinion stand alone runs much smoother then the mod. Down bellow are my first impressions. First time I loaded the game and joined the server, game crashed. Lolz After that everything when smoothly, I figured out how to customise character and after few hours had pretty good loot going. However I was constantly hungry and thirsty. I left the coast and headed into the wilderness hoping to find a good spot. Half way i started to pass out from hunger and thirst, and eventually it took too long to recover and I killed the character. My second day went much better and after getting some key items like good back pack and fire-fighters axe I was cruising. I figured out how to open cans and found some bottled water and med kit. Things started looking good. Zombies are not a problem if u have an axe) Then I found Mosin rifle. I managing my hunger and thirst and don’t get sick much, thanx to the vitamins. But I don’t know if I survive another day. Things I think need to be improved:I feel like there have to be more zombies. I don’t mind how dumb they are, I mean what do u expect from dead brains. With bigger number of zombies in towns and loot spots, it will make harder for people to find better loot and maybe push them to group up. Animations are quite smooth, but can be improved. When at night, using torchlight inside the houses it’s a bit frustrating with the line of light, it also doest disperse wider when distance is shorter to the object. II think that needs to be implemented. Some particular houses don’t have any loot in them. I think ppl already mentioned that. I haven’t interacted with other players yet, so can’t say much for that. In overall SA provides much smoother game play and is much less frustrating. Still it can be quite daunting for a new player. Especially figuring how to interact with the world. I can see how this game can become so much more after more work is done. THanx to Rocket for bringing this project to life. Enjoy the rewards mate.
