All servers blackout?

Every server that me and a friend join is just loading with a black screen - and no, not night time black - we have joined servers from all timezones.

We can move and bring up the gear menu but no actual visibility.

Any ideas?

Ok. My OP makes no sense.

I mean, the game loads as normal, but then on entering the server - nothing. Total black (and not just night time black, its on all timezones). We can still move around.
