Picking up weapons/backpacks

Hello. I am kinda new to DayZ, and wanted to ask, is there a way to pick up and put big weapons (such as M4) and/or other empty backpacks into my own backpack? I tried multiple times, and it did not work. Is it even possible? I think that an M4 could easily fit into the largest backpack.

But a 15 Slot backpack uses 15 Slots if u want to store them in your backpack...

means: when u have a 15 slot backpack and u found a 15 slot backpack you won't have any space left after taking your found one.

Thanks man, then i think i had not enough slots left. Now everything is clear.

You can't fit backpacks into backpacks. Guns do fit though.
