FTAO: People spawning in wasteland [Possible Fix]

Hey everyone! The past few dayz <--(see what i did there?) i've been stuck in that god forsaken shit hole.

I'm not sure if it was the update thats fixed it or what but im going to tell you what I did.

Remove all DayZ Mod files.

Delete Temp folder %appdata% /local/temp or whatever it is.

Make sure your Arma2 is fully updated.

Install the latest beta patch from http://www.arma2.com/beta-patch.php

Head over to worrom.com and download the Day Z Updater

Place the file in your Arma2:OA folder.

Run the updater and hit FORCE UPDATE not check for updates.

Now in your Arma2 OA folder there should be a shortcut called "Launch Arma2 OA Beta Patch"

Hopefully now you will spawn at the coast!

Can you do this right after a successful looting trip to the NW airfield and spawn at the coast with Mk 48 + 10 mags and a ghillie suit which will help in the griefing process?

Im not 100% sure that it keeps your stuff. I didnt have anything on me anyway so I would'nt be able to tell you.

I think this "fix" = make sure you are running the latest dayz and arma2 clients. Never does any harm to remind people though.

Your character position is saved in the central server, not in your computer, so it wont reset your position or anything like that. The only thing this does is properly updates your game, so you will be encountering less bugs.

From Rocket: Found the issue causing the debug forest spawn. Fixed in the next hotfix (1.7.1.6), eta 8 hours.

We'll see if that sorts the wasteland out too.

Is it possible to run all the way back? I have a map and can see myself in the barren waste.. it's a super long run lol

Well I was constantly spawning in wasteland there was no way to get out even respawn and stuff didn't work. As soon as I did this I was on the coast :)

lol I feel bad, trying for a 2nd time to get this fix to work.. I've been stuck in wasteland for about 3-4 hours now... anyway I keep running out of water but luckily I find some bodies from time to time if I relog and some have soda on them, like a little leech atm.

The first time I tried this fix (and here is the sickening part) I was still in the wasteland but could hear the ocean O_O WTF rofl.

Yes but when you die again you respawn back in the wastelands.

I spawn at the coast every time now in either elektro or close to there

Running east to villages and logging out and in again usually fixes the solution. Canada 2 trick also works.
