Effective Zombie eradication tactics.

So i have been playing a while now and i am using following method i use quite effectively.

 

When you are attacked by a zombie run circles around it swinging your melee weapon slightly in front of the direction the zombie is running / attacking they run in to your attacking swing. (most effective weapon i have used is an Axe two hits anywhere to the body and the zed is down.

All of their attacks always miss and works well with hoards of Zeds as well.

Never take on a zombie from the front, they are quite slow and easy to predict the path they will take during their attacking animation.

 

Any one else have some tips?

just like the mod, run down a steep grade, they will go airborne, fall and die

I put up a good fight and knocked them both down but they got back up and omanom'd me.

if you dont have a weapon, use fists to knock them down, then run away.

it takes a few punches but eventually they fall and it takes them a moment to get back up.

in the meantime you can take off and put some distance between you.

breaking line of sight and all that.

alltho i have noticed that it is very hard now, as they seem to know where you are once they started chasing you.

running around corners doesnt work well, try to use houses (in from one side, cross the building, out on the other side).

you can draw aggro from all the zeds on the street, lose them in an outskirt building, and then loot in peace (if you are alone).

 

i also found that its pointless to use anything but axe or shovel.

axe is best, shovel works ok but you need a bit of luck.

 

knives, screwdrivers and whatnot are useless and a good way to lose blood.

havent tried baseball bats.

That's strange. I killed 3 zombies with my fists today, just knock em on the nose and keep punching while they're down.

So I know for a fact that it is possible.

Um... You can most certainly beat a zombie to death with your fists. I took down two at once that way. Punch in the head and beat them while they are down. 



You can also one shot most zombies with an axe, just don't hit them in the arms.  You weapons follow an arc so learn where it swings and try to make contact. Zombies also telegraph their attacks although high pings can result in you being hit without noticing it. When they go to swing move and hit them.

its not impossible to kill with fists but it takes time and effort.

i personally dont want to fight outside for too long.

What? Just punch them in the head, they'll fall down and keep punching them while on the ground. They will get back up 2 or 3 times, keep doing that, and they'll just die.

When they go down, keep swinging. They're prolly not dead yet and will get up and eat you.

 

Keep hitting it until it falls down and disappears.

This is how I deal with zombies though, first hit knocks them down, and while they are recovering just aim for the head some more. by the time they get up they go down again. At around the 3rd down they are out.

 

This isnt me trolling either. It's what I literally do If i don't have an axe. Every other melee option just garantees getting hit back if you don't dance like the first guy said.
