DayZ Standalone download issues!!!!!!!

So i brought the standalone when it came out, and started downloading it.

 

yesterday when i shut down steam, i had downloaded 1.5GB out of 4.9GB

 

today when i started downloading it again, it somehow now read 36.9MB out of 5.0GB

 

 

What in the actual Fcuk happened???

 

so i've wasted all that bandwidth for no reason then???

Don't shut down downloads in progress is probably the smartest and safest thing to do!

im not gonna download the 5GB in one go.

 

We have this thing called a bandwidth cap

 

and plus there's never any issue with any other game

That sucks, the bandwidth cap here is 8 GB. I'll bet part of the problem is that this is an alpha that just came out, so large updates are happening very often. Once you actually manage to get it downloaded the update process should go smoother. Only thing I can recommend is to try downloading again, and if you have to stop partway through cross your fingers and hope no patches get released while you do so.
