Goodbye Coast, I'm Leaving You...

Recommended Posts

After a few dayz (hur hur) of messing around on the SA and getting used to the new system, I decided after losing a fist fight with an asian lady, to make an attempt to gather some good gear together and finally leave the coast, heading inland.

I spawned in freshly just outside of Balota, I looted the nearby town, finding an axe and a backpack, going through some houses, collected the necessary food and water to set off.

I entered one building and grew suspicious of footsteps behind me, I ran upstairs and looked out the window, as I leaned over I caught a glimpse of movement behind me, 2 guys in motorcycle helmets had followed me in wielding crowbars.

Luckily Axe > Crowbar, I managed to take them both down without being hit once. Things were getting interesting.

I headed to the airfield to see quite a few dead bodies littering the runway and nearby hangars, I dropped prone to the floor and scouted the area, one fella emerged from the first hangar holding an M4, I decided to stay hidden and watch his movement before moving on, suddenly from the middle of the 2nd and 3rd hangars a group of 3, all armed with what I also believe were M4's come bursting out, the one guy hides in between a few dead bodies before opening fire on them, the group ran without returning any fire at all, all managing to escape seemingly unscathed.

Having managed to make my way to entrance just behind the hangars unseen, I saw another freshspawn running towards me timidly, "Friendly?" I read in chat, to which I responded "Yes".

I warned my new found friend about the guy patrolling around the hangars with the M4 and we cautiously moved around checking for loot when none other than Mr M4 himself comes running out right in front of us, I don't think he saw us (Somehow, we were fairly out in the open at this point) and he ran off and out into the woods behind Balota, my friend seemingly ran away in fear also.

So I was once again alone, no deadweight to hold me back.

I managed to find myself an M4 on a dead body, no bullets though, but I thought I'd take it and hope for the best.

Then I headed up to one of the new settlements just North of the airstrip and searched a few buildings there, low and behold I found a 40 round clip for my M4 and a suppressor, I pretty much squealed with joy IRL.

Not too far off Cherno, I decided to have a quick loot around, looking mainly for medical equipment, I gathered a few bits from the hospital then headed for my next destination; Mogilevka.

Gunshots rang off just behind me, I ran behind cover and saw a guy running in my direction, I popped him in the head twice and he went down like a sack of shit, I gotta say it feels alot more satisfying to kill in the SA.

Anyway, I ran off into the woods, checking my Compass and Southern Map fragment to make sure I was on the right path to Mogi, then I see it, I'm not sure why, but it always makes me smile when I reach there, maybe because It was always the path I took North when the mod was first released and It just brings back memories.

Just this scene here, is one of my favourites in all of Chenarus, emerging over the hill to see the quiet little village sleeping on the other side.
