Cavan 0 Posted June 21, 2012 You can do that in real life. But there are consequences. Bad consequences. So you do it in a game where there are no consequences. Such a thing speaks volumes about the inner workings of a mind.I think it says a lot more about you purely from the fact you're capable of accepting that kind of fallacy. Niblik 1 Posted June 21, 2012 This game' date=' unfortunately, is now full of scum who kill anything that moves, including unarmed players, either for sport or for loot. As this continues, otherwise good players are tempted to shoot first and ask questions later. Why wouldn't they? The world is full of assholes, and it's best to assume they all want to kill you.So now, you spawn unarmed in a world of enemies. What kind of game is that? It's masochism. Those with weapons are able to enjoy the game. Those without, well...I'm one of those. I spent 36 hours trying to figure out how to get out of debug hell, only to come back to a game that is unplayable because of selfish players.Rocket didn't ruin this game. The players did.[/quote']I'm kinda in your boat. I've taken to calling the newest players "lol killers". They kill unarmed fresh spawns on the beaches, shoot you in the debug zones, will kill you even if they die seconds later to the zombie horde, and think its manly to snipe helpless targets.I'm getting good at avoiding them, but I lament the loss of comradery that I experienced when I first started playing about a monthy ago. Now everyones a bandit because you have almost no other option. And with global chat removed its gotten far too lonely out there. Social action, unless you already have a group playing with you, is basically nil.

You'll have to be more specific. Is it a fallacy that punishment deters bad behaviour? Is it a fallacy that how someone plays a video game reveals the nature of the person? More input, please :)
septuscap 42 Posted June 22, 2012 This game' date=' unfortunately, is now full of scum who kill anything that moves, including unarmed players, either for sport or for loot.[/quote']I like how this is perfectly acceptable in almost every type of game (except for PvE only games), but for some reason people who PK in this game are scum. I don't care what your situation is, or that you would be nice to me. I don't want you to be nice to me, nor do I need you to be. I'm stalking prey in the greatest sandbox PvP game since Ultima Online.
