How to update?

Sorry i don't use steam for anything and have no idea how to update? I'm guessing it isn't automatic since I don't see any status indicators?

I got it through steam

ok i see it either will update automatically or just go to the game and right click and should be able to update there, Also when you try and start it up it will force updates also

Should I be seeing status indicators? I still don't see them =\ or is it still the shitty text based stuff?

Go into your inventory there are indicators whilst minimal they are there for your benefit.
