Zombies should 'move back' a bit when hit, just like L4D2

Recommended Posts

I played DayZ since the first day the original mod was released, and I love the game in every way. One thing still bothers me: melee just does not feel good. When I hit a zombie with an axe, they don't indicate that they're hit nor let you have the feeling your attack is effective. I rather see them 'bounce back' when I hit them, to 'stun' them for a short period, and thus show me that I actually did damage to them.

TL;DR: Left 4 Dead 2 uses a same kind of system, where zombies are stunned for one second and scream when hit.

Wouldn't that be awesome and very easy to implement?

Axe's are definitely effective.

They should 1hit most of the time.

As for things like that, I'm not sure. Either rag doll which is coming soon or more animations.

I imagine Rocket only wants to smooth up the game as much as possible though, keep in mind this is an alpha and stability should take priority over everything else.
