Dayz standalone startup error

error creating direct3d 9 graphical engine

I've verified integrity reinstalled dayz reinstalled direct x and still keep getting this error when the game is about to load.

Lets give this a shot DL directx9 as its not fully included in dx11 http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=34429

Uninstall the game clear the appdata dayz folder and delete the game folder and profiles reinstall with steam running as admin and run the game with steam as admin.

I'm having this problem as well. I've tried all the advice I've found online including: uninstalling and re installing the game with steam run on administrator. Re installing directx 9 and 11 and directx SDK. So far none of those things have worked and when I hit play on the game the screen goes black as if it's going to load the game and then it closes it and gives me the error creating direct3d 9 engine.

My friend has been trying everything too and no luck so far, the stupid part is that he can run Arma 2, Arma 3 and killing floor without any problems.
