Can anyone pitch a tent now?

Hello! I have tried to pitch a tent for a long time now, but cant do it. I right click in my inventory but I get the same message all over (cant pitch a tent here, needs to be flat not close to anything.....) I treid to pitch a tent in a big open field nothing happens. The last time i could pitch a tent was in 1.5.6. Does anyone have this problem or is it just me.

I had the same 'issue' earlier today. However, after searching from this forum I found a tip that you should keep the gear window open and slowly move forward while clicking "pitch tent".. Using that method it took me like 2 seconds to finally find a suitable spot for my tent.

I placed down several tents, which were right next or into trees.

So its working perfect for me.
