Third person camera zoom distance

Is there anyway to zoom out the camera in third person so you can see your entire character? I press "Enter" and then use the number pad keys "+" and "-" to zoom slightly in and out but it still only zooms out a little and the camera is still right above my character's head.  It would be nice to be able to see my entire character in gear while running around. It seems I'm only able to see him by looking at the model in the inventory screen.
