Dear Nelson,

Player encounters tend to be sudden, violent events throughout. I'm glad this was different.

I feel as if though we didn't have enough time together, as our brief encounter ended tragically. You must know, it's this very tragedy that has strengthened my attachment to you. This vast, empty void that now separates us has brought us closer together. I wish I had more time to get to know you. Your kindness has gone unmatched by anyone I've met so far; we only knew each-other for mere minutes when you gave me that fire extinguisher, and your offer for food was most appreciated.

You were, in fact, my only true friend in this game. I've yet to encounter anyone whom I've gotten along so well with in such short time. I'll always cherish that. I enjoyed telling stories of my travels, and it's most unfortunate that yours had been so uneventful up until then. I hope I've lived up to my promise and provided you with at least one interesting tale to tell in the great beyond. Rest in peace, wherever you may be, and know that I wish things had gone differently. If anything, I wish I'd at least seen your face. There was just no use taking off your helmet, though, as it was too damaged for me to use.

Unfortunately, most of your gear had been damaged; I only managed to recover some food and a pair of gloves. But the fire extinguisher was in great condition, which is surprising given that I hit your helmet-clad head with it quite a few times. You didn't bleed out as quickly as I would have liked, but you saved us both a lot of time by not struggling. You ran, and I just had to chase you until eventually you just stopped

Shame about the helmet, though. That thing looked wicked.

With love,

Very Ape
