Freezing Issue

Recommended Posts

Hey, I've looked everywhere for a solution, maybe you guys can help me.

Ever since about a month ago, every 1-2 minutes my game will freeze (drop to 0 fps). It stays frozen for 5-10 seconds. When I'm frozen my friends can see me still moving, but when I unfreeze, I lag back into the place I froze. It's as if I'm desyncing. This same thing happens if I'm driving or flying. If I'm frozen for more than 10 seconds, when I unfreeze for a split second I can see "No message recieved from the server for 10 seconds" or something along those lines. For a second or two after I freeze I can hear sound, then it stops. I think it's my internet at, but, why would my game freeze. This only happens in dayz, regular arma is fine.

Things I've tried:

* Completely reinstalling, deleting everything that has to do with dayz and arma 2.

* Messing with settings.

* Joining servers I have various pings to. (I've tried US, EU, DE, and RU servers.)

Important notes:

* I mainly play dayz epoch.

* I have an AMD FX-6100 and an HD7850 (Upgrading to i5 and getting new mobo soon)

* I usually freeze once, then again in the next 30-45 seconds. Then I'm fine for a few minutes.

* This just started happening.

* I played on one russian vanilla namalsk and this didn't happen.

* I use dayz commander.

Hopefully you guys can help me.

Here's what to do which could help you out.

Upper Right Corner

  • Go to settings
  • Commander Options
  • Check where it says Max Connections: (number) - Stability (less) / Performance (More)
  • For me, I use 40. Higher it is, more laggy it may be. I don't really see much of a difference other than not being disconnected off your network.

Conclusion: This is caused by the information being overloaded when you refresh the server list. This is a known issue and can create network crashes.

Unfortunately, that didn't fix it.

Check your hard drive for errors.  Run a registry cleaner like CCleaner.com.  Check that your swap file under windows is optomised and not set to custom or something like that.  Try running the game with Razor Game Booster (i know, but it's worth a try!).  Use the defrage tool available from that ccleaner website, use the built in disk checker.  One last thing to check is your router, make sure it's not dropping packets or that the interface isn't faulty.

Failing all that, I suggest a complete reboot, a clean install of Windows.

Didn't work, sorry.

Not buying it. You did all that, even the clean install of Windows and it still doesn't work?

Right! You've either fucked up your pc with some dodgy hack, or you're not even trying to follow our advice!

Sorry mate, I've been in the IT industry for over 20 years and I know you couldn't have done all that in this short amount of time.
