I recently found an M4A1 CCO at one of the airports. I saw on the wiki that it's a very rare spawn, is there anything particularly great about the rifle?

The scope on it is very useful, plus it's got greater accuracy over the AK rifles. But these rifles have less of a powerful hit.

I going to answer this under an assumption you are fairly new to ARMA in general. If not then don't take this as demeaning or insulting.

Given that assumption, unlike other games, ARMA doesnt have drastic differences between weapons past what sets them apart in real life. So for example, differences in barrel length aside, two weapons that fire the same round are not going to have much, if any difference in the damage the bullet does. The big difference you will find with weapons of similar caliber, is in handling charactistics, like accuracy, recoil, etc and like the M4 in question, optics. So the difference between a M4 with a CCO and one with out is purely the optics.

Personally I don't like the CCO type sights in video games because the reason they are great in real life is completely lost in a virtual setting with the exception of them maybe giving you a bit better field of view depending on what the sight/weapon is.

I wouldn't get too attached to it anyway, since by the time you read this you'll probably already have been killed and lost it :P

Yea i was killed and lost mine -.- What i liked about it was mine had a flashlight on it along with the red dot sight, so i could use it at night time with little problems :3

Thanks Hopscotch, Thad about what I expected. I just wasn't sure sine it lists as more rare than other m4s.

I lost mine when i picked up a hatchet yesterday :|

Then i lost another when i put it inside a tent then 3seconds later before i had chance to save the tent, server went down for a restart without a warning. Another M4 CCO gone :)

I also lost another when i put it inside my backpack and didnt have 12slots free, it went poof and dissapeared into thin air

Havent actually been killed with it my hand yet.

On the plus side i managed to pick a sniper in a gillie suit off at about .5 k/m outside berizino the other which was a really nice kill as he had night vision, range finder, the works.
