Mozzie Flying Practice: No Option in Editor?

Recommended Posts

Learn to fly a normal heli. They should be the same. ALWAYS STEER WITH YOUR KEYPAD!

I've flown with a MI-17 and whatnot to the point where I can get from Point A to Point B without any concerns, but Mozzies (and to a lesser extent, Little Birds) are much more twitchy. That's why I wanted to get a feel for it offline.

Holy crap. I just realized that one of the most annoying things that I experience while driving a car is... mouse steering. Sweet. I'll definitely disable that on both.

But seriously... is there NOT a way to practice flying a mozzie in the Editor?

Go into editor.

Spawn a mozzie.

Get in, take off, fly around?

Look up DaiZy (a singleplayer mod for ArmA 2) with a version that includes whatever version of DayZ includes the Mozzie.

I personally wouldn't suggest just using the keyboard for flying, it might be okay in Dayz though. I would use the mouse for small, precise inputs whilst using the keys for heavier, rougher maneuvers.

Go into editor.

Spawn a mazzi.

Get in, take off, fly around?

That's what I'm saying. I went into the editor and the Mozzie isn't an option (it's not listed).

Do you have the extra, special mod stuff that includes the Mozzie? Are you looking under the right name?

Go on... I bought Arma 2 + Operation Arrowhead + the DayZ stuff (via DayZ Commander). Is there additional content I need to buy/download to get this option/additional functionality?

Note: I'm going into the editor through after launching Operation Arrowhead.

The little helicopter IS NOT part of vanilla DayZ. Have you downloaded and installed the EXTRA mod IN ADDITION TO DayZ that adds it?

E? What for?

I also find X and C really useful to help me keep the heli steady and make small adjustments when I'm landing/travelling at low speeds.

The Mozzies are not in Vanilla, nor in A2 / OA. So it's frome some dayZ mod. Go with the singleplayer dayz mod thing suggested further up

Pitch. It's a LOT more stable than hitting W.

Listen:

You know how there's Dayz, and then there's Breakingpoint, Epoc, Overwatch, Origins, and 10000 million other things? Figure out which one adds the Mozzie, install that.

Dude... they are 4 gold to buy in Epoch. Put 4 gold in your inventory and strip most of your gear. Run to Aircraft dealer, buy one, fly it around. If you crash big deal. :)

Q Go up

Z Go Down

X,C rotate left and right

Use mouse when in first person and keypad when in third person. Idk why ppl think it's such a big deal to fly a helicopter or a plane. It's not like you need to push idk how many buttons to start flying.

As far as I know and played, you can get Mozzie/Gyrocopter in Overwatch, Epoch and Origins

easiest way to test thngs in most DayZ mods is to go into lobby on a server for that mod, then disconect, but do not hit exit.  Then all you need to do is type "ctrl-e"  It lanches the 3d editor with that mod packopen so you can spawn anything in that mod.  It does not work for Origans and I do not think it works for I44, and breakingpoint might not.  But it does work for vannila, epoch, unleashed and all the other islands.  I used it alot to learn new maps.
