Xianyu 820 Posted December 13, 2013 I was playing arma 3 and I noticed immediately that every door was defaulted to closed. All the gates, closed. Everything, default closed. I recall this happening in the dayz mod, too. I'm suggesting that for the standalone, with all these buildings with all these doors, be randomly open or closed. It's simply for immersion. And it also doesn't allow you to track someone by following all of the opened doors.

weparo 613 Posted December 13, 2013 It's hard to have them persist over reset. Doesn't matter, as long as they are different after every restart.
Korsbaek 1778 Posted December 13, 2013 This is actually a pretty good suggestion. With people rushing out of their homes to avoid being infected, they wouldn't care about closing their doors.
badluckburt 974 Posted December 13, 2013 It's hard to have them persist over reset. They'd just have to save the door positions for every server instance running if you'd want it to persist. I personally wouldn't do that in the main hive but I assume the dedicated servers will have their own database for certain data so it could be stored there without any problems. Randomized opened and closed doors would be fine with me though :)
