Helicopters back yet?

I read the patch notes about being able to stop the helicopter fuel leaks in the lastest patch notes.

Does this mean they are back?

Does anyone know what servers have helicopters?

I have seen just about everything other than a helicopter and a gps. Well I saw a cobra that a hacker spawned and killed me with, but no legit choppers.

Ther on certain tester servers, I am pretty sure US 64 has them enabled...if not then someones been spawning them.

That is if CH-47s are in the game. We found two crashed (like crashed, destroyed) and one flying not far from the other two.

Ch 47 is a chinook you realize?

I think only hueys crashed or flying are in the game.

Well if the guy on US 64 was a hacker, then he was a nice one.

Was offering rides for everyone on his taxi route...picking up and dropping people off.

Why cant people do crap like that more often.

He is talking about the flyable Huey helicopter. Though I dont know if its worth the effort to find and repair one, as they are quite easy to shoot down. Anyone with a rifle could probably hit the pilot and cause it to crash. Ive done it before in the editor, it was amusing.

Was that the CH-47 that was flying around medic-vacing people and helping them out? I think he helped me out with some painkillers.

Confirmed that there was a hacker on US 64, there was a jet bombing Elektro. And the Ch-47 Chinook isn't in Day Z.

I think you'll find the down choppers might be weesex lynxs choppers .

British forces still use them as the attack chopper , i think they might be changing over to APACHEs now though.

This would make sense as you'll find british gear in them.

Just seen a vid on you tube with dean"ROCKET"hall playing with a brit ,he said that a major update for team co-op encouragment is on the cards so who knows maybe CHINNOCS might be a long term thing that a group would have to work to or other large things such as FORTIFIED areas or camps , a bit like a raid MOB in MMORGS .

Well maybe ! just a thought.

Put a skilled ArmA pilot in the hot-seat, you'll see a massive difference.

The downed helicopters are UH-1Y Venoms (often confused with a huey). Also Chinooks will probably never make it into DayZ, you would need double the parts to repair it anyway, not to mention it's a beast to hide.
