Which guns should I choose?

Recommended Posts

I stumbled across a heli wreck. I currently have 6 G36 clips, 1 STANAG MAG, and 3 FN FAL mags. I have a choice between 3 weapons, and I can only carry 2. The L85A2 with holo sight, a camo G36A with the long-distance sight, and the FN FAL. I decided to keep the FN FAL (only has iron sights) for its high damage (1 shot = kill for zombies), but now I need to decide between the L85A2 which is higher damage, but holo scope cannot get long ranges, or the camo G36A with the long-range scope, but lower damage. Both of these can use G36 and STANAG mags. So which of these should I choose?

I'd get a tent and get em both!

Since you have a FAL, I'd get the L85A2(I am a huge L8 fan) so a little biased.

I'd definitely try and get a tent though.

I always go for one short range weapon, and one long range weapon, no matter how much of a damage it deals. In the battlefield of war, damage is not the only thing that counts, tactics, precision, having the advantage over your enemy is of great importance in war!

Imagine yourself; You're in a forest, opposite of that forest is another forest and in between is nothing but plains, your target only has a short range weapon, you have a short range and a long age, by the time the guy takes a steady shot at you and it actually hits you, you could land several low-damage shots into his body, making him die much quicker.

The thing is that the L85A2 has a better range (500 as apposed to the 300 from the G36A, but it has a closer-range scope. So it kind of balances it out. Ill probably go with the G36A because of the scope. But not sure though.

The G36A beats the the L85 as you can swap between the long range sight and the red dot sight by pressing NUM /.   also they both use the same mags so do the same damage.

Oh so thats how you switch modes. Alright, Ill go with the G36A because of the long-range scope.

Exactly. Also it in vanilla it will be tough to find enough ammo to keep the fn Fal going. Take only the G36 and save some space for extra ammo supplies. Use G36 mags for long range as they have more damage, and stanag @ full auto & shortrange sights.

Shotguns are pretty useless in arma as any rifle performs better in almost any situation. There is nothing more satisfying than a kill with a double barreled shotgun though. Spray of pellets raining upon his chest...ahh.

Idk, I've honestly had better luck with the M1014 than with the pee-shooter AK. The only advantages I see for the AK here are range and RoF. But because the AK does so little damage at range, I'd almost prefer to just blanket them in pellets at 100+ meters and hope for an arm/leg break.

Not to mention the immersion-boner that comes with a shotgun.

Sorry, i genuinely thought you were joking, i'd always go with the AK over a shotgun. shotguns are only any good up close while the AK can be used full auto up close or switch to semi for a bit of range.

Guess it really depends on your playstyle though as i usually prefer to keep a bit of distance to anyone who might have nasty intentions.

Also you can pick off zeds with an AK if you really have to without aggroing the whole town.

M1014 or AK74-Kobra?

Flares. In your situation, no weapon is better than your choices.
