Maybe its just me, but my friend and I can NEVER find anything useful outside of the large citys. I think the supplies should be bumped up a bit outside of the bigger areas.

even the enterable buildings have nothing, only tin cans. They should atleast bump up food and water, and really weak weapons. nothing more boring then running for hour or 2 to not find what you need.

You need to head further north. There's a few different military installations that have a lot of good stuff. Though I agree some of the smaller cities could be a bit less useless.

Try waiting on the outskirts of the town for a bit before going in to loot it. There will be more zombies, but more chance on actual loot spawning before you make it there.

It's all about odds.

Bigger cities = more loot spawns.

Small cities = less loot spawns.

Each loot spawn has a % to create certain items. Bigger cities don't increase the % of specific loot, there is just more of them.

Risk versus reward is such an incredibly simple concept do we really need to have this thread?

Larger cities, more risk, higher reward.

Medium towns, moderate risk, moderate reward.

Small towns, little risk, low reward.

You're going to have to try really, really hard to argue against this model. Why should popping into the smallest towns on the map that are never visited by players and only a handful of zeds net you good loot? Meh.

Google DayZ maps. There is one that has all the loot spots and tells you what kind of loot they drop. You can see what areas have a good concentration of lootable buildings. It's good that some areas are less traveled. Gives you and alternative to the big city bloodbath if you are having a time of getting killed repeatedly and get frustrated (it also means there are good places to hide tents).

running between 2 smaller towns is also much safer then running into either of the larger towns.

By smaller towns I mean ones that atleast have a supermarket, pub or church anything else is more of a pit spot looting spot on the road to somewhere else.
