Putting steam DLC on a retail version of A2:OA

Recommended Posts

Hey guys, a while ago I bought Arma 2 and OA on a disc and just recently I got some early Christmas money and decided to buy the PMC and BAF dlc (Along with Arma 3 :)). I have put A2:OA in my steam library but i can't install the DLC, any one know why this is or if i'm doing something wrong or if it just isn't possible.

Thanks in advance.

To install the DLC, just run it.

Do you mean arma 2 or the DLC? cause i can't add the DLC to my library to download it.

I honestly think you cannot do this. Your games arent actually bought through steam, therfor steam doesnt recongnize you have them. You bought them completely seperate, and you need to buy the STEAM versions for the STEAM DLC to work.

Once you purchase the DLC, it should do in your Steam library and be something like

"Arma 2: Private Military Company" etc

Just install it, then launch it. Once you launch it, it will install the DLC completely, and load to the main menu.

Then you should be fine.

I don't have a steam version of A2:OA it is a RETAIL DISC version, steam doesn't seem to be recognizing it cause i installed it via the disc, not steam.

Therefore how would i get steam to recognize the retail version? cause every time i try to put the DLC in my library it goes "You need Arma 2 Operation arrowhead to play this"( or close to that).

At the bottom of your game list, there should be an option to add a game. Just find your OA and add it as a non steam game.
