Ok, Basically I have several issues.

1. What is the actual latest patch of Dayz? I have attempted downloading several 'latest' patches. When I enter game it comes up as 1.60, I click on severs its 1.60--- something. I look around and it says latest patches are 1.7 :S

2. With the 'latest' patch that I got, which is supposedly 1.7. I have installed it to the dot with the use of steam. When I enter the game and go onto multiplayer, It comes up with a cross by the server name and that I have the wrong version..

3. when I do find one with my version, I attempt to join I get the following;

"you cannot play/edit this mission; it is dependant on downloadable content that has been deleted.chernarus"

4. With Six Launcer, I played a few hours last night, then I went on today.. the server had about 18/19 people, but no one would talk.. I wasn't sure if it was me or just people wouldn't talk.

5. When I try to enter games through Six I get this error message about a weapon error. I'll try to insert a image of it when I attempt again. -- the error is; "!!!no entry bin\config.bin/cfgweapons!!"

6. If I am able to get into a game, The game loading screens comes up, that loads, then i enter the server, then I hit ok or join (or something) then I get a black screen with loading in the middle and a loading bar. Once it finishes, I hear game sounds but nothing happens..

Please help me, I brought the game the other night, and I'm working up a major headache.. and disappointment.

Okay, let me have a go at this...

1) Latest patch (of this me posting this) is 1.7.1.5

3) If you get the error "you cannot play/edit this mission; it is dependant on downloadable content that has been deleted.chernarus" - Try uninstalling Arma2 and OA, and reinstalling them. It has worked for a few people.

4) I've had that too. Don't quote me on this, but I think there is still bugs with chat, either that or everyone just didn't want to talk :P

5) That error is a problem for everyone. Just click "OK" and the game should continue to load. If you are put back to the main menu, Run Steam as Administrator (assuming you are using steam)

6) Gaming loading is/was slow with previous patches. 1.7.1.5 seems to be quicker loading for servers. Try the above and this one should sort itself out.

I'm going to reinstall Arma2: OA, I play through steam.. uhm, is it possible if you could link me to the latest Dayz downloadable patch? and once i get it, should I delete the current files and replace it with the downloaded ones?

You are going to want to download a program called "Six Launcher". I will provide a download to it below. It will automatically update your Day Z mod to the latest released patch and provide a full list of available servers.

Six Updater (which installed six launcher, just only use six launcher after you've installed it):

I've got both of those programs, but how do I know if its updated? just open it? and once it is updated, do I use six launcher to join a server?

Yes, you use Six Launcher to find servers. Just open it, and click a server, it will check to make sure you are running the correct version of Day Z and then it will say "Play".

The "play" button will say "update" if you need to update to the newest patch. Just click it and it will update for you. :)

I've just completed re-installing Arma2: OA, went through updating with Six launcher, the game started but then I got: "Bad serial Number given in set-up" - ??

Ok.. I've attempted to sort it out myself..

1. Reinstall OA

2. Reinstall latest dayz mod, placed it in the correct area in the steam folder etc.

3. I enter the game through Launch OA in the steam window

4. Majority of the servers are unavailable I believe, I get a red cross by the server name, and i look down at the details my version (of what I don't know) is 1.60 the servers version is 1.60.93825, which is highlighteed in red...

5. There is a handful of servers that allow me to join, so I do, it says connect, then I, again, get a black screen that says loading, but it sounds like that infinite loading screen?..

please.. someone help...

ok. I'm having similar issues. originally the error message was giving me a list of files that needed to be deleted or reassigned a key. So i deleted all those files. the filed were the .pbo files in the arma2 Addons folder, not A2oa. when i deleted them then i got the error cannot play/edit........telling me i needed .chernarus. I have Arma 2 retail copy, steam operation arrowhead. I have uninstalled, reinstalled, opened and closed them. I have installed the dayz mod Manually by torrent and by unpacking each file, i have used six launcher, six updater, to install mod and update them. I have also tried using the manual update. The mod is going in the correct folder, I do have the correct launch parameters and I am launching as combined operations from steam. I have launched from steam, Arma 2 launcher, six updater, six launcher, the executable files. I am running everything as admin. I have uninstalled and reinstalled everything multiple times and restarted my pc and everything else. I have reinstalled Battleye tons of times, both manually and through steam. Nothing I do works. If i add the addon files back to the arma2 directory the game tells me i have to delete to join. If i delete the the game tells me cannot play/edit.......chernarus. I have also tried using the worrom application but it just freezes at 1% every time. Does anyone have anything useful to offer? I'd really appreciate any help. The game seems really cool and i'm getting very frustrated and impatient.
