I'm getting kicked or can't connect

Hey guys, I know this is pretty rude of me being my first post, but I need help.

(Please check the latest post by me as the issue has been updated.)

 

Before asking any questions, I have now:

• Have a Arma 2 Free version downloaded from Steam about a year ago and have runned it.
• Bought, downloaded and runned Arma 2: Operation Arrowhead
• I've copy pasted the Arma 2 Free AddOns to Arma 2: Operation Arrowhead, and Arma 2: Operation arrowhead\common
• I've downloaded DayZ Commander and it recognizes I have both Arma 2 Free & Operation Arrowhead, and have tried to connect to numerous servers with the same problem: bad version.

If you scroll down you'll see my issue currently is I can't update Arma 2 Free as it is no longer available on steam or anywhere else, and the current updater can't locate it or believes it is corrupt.

 

• I've downloaded & runned Arma 2 Free (the non-steam way)
• I've bought, downloaded & runned Arma 2: Operation Arrowhead
• I've copy pasted the Arma 2 Free AddOns folder to Arma 2: OA.
• I've downloaded DayZ Commander, and have tried to connect to multiple servers.

Before I explain the big issue, I also tried downloading the Arma 2: OA beta patch, and first it says Arma 2 WRONG CD KEY, then it somehow suddenly works and says the updater will take a while, it only takes a split second and says it updated it successfully, so I'm not really sure what went on there. If it really worked or didn't is beyond me.

 

Secondly, when I run DayZ Commander it keeps telling me I haven't ran Arma 2 and Arma 2: OA both manually first, when I have numerous times just to be safe.

 

Finally, the big issue is when I'm on DayZ Commander and selecting a server to play, in 1-10 seconds it brings me to connecting to host or something another, a picture of a tank or something, and then brings me back to the menu. I don't even have time to see a "kicked" message so I'm not sure what's going on. I read a similar thread and they said deleting PMF and BAF folders from the Arma 2 folder would fix it but I don't even have those so that can't be it.

 

I know I'm not very informative in terms of the issue, but the issue itself isn't very informative to me. I do apologize in advance if it's hard to understand what I'm trying to say.

Make a Shortcut and add the following.(Just change were your arma install is)

 

"C:\Program files\Bohemia Interactive\Arma 2 Operation Arrowhead\Expansion\beta\arma2oa.exe" "-mod=Expansion\beta;Expansion\beta\expansion;@DayZ"

You should be running 1.62 arma version with beta patch 103718 (1.62.107318)

I did just as you said, moved my installation folders, created the shortcut, launched it, and immediately it popped up with this:

And after it gave me the error, it made my desktop go black with a white loading bar in the middle, and then popped up to choppy colorful gray / black / more gray / light blue blocks with buttons I could select via my arrow keys and enter key, but couldn't do anything with my mouse and I couldn't even see what the buttons said. I had to CTRL + ALT + DELETE + TASK MGR my way out.

Bumping, as my problem has been updated.

 

I managed to copy old files from when I tried playing like a year ago. Now the problem is, I can't update Arma 2 Free. It is no longer available on Steam from what I understand, or anywhere. With that being said, mine is so out of date I can't update it using Steam anymore because it no longer recognizes it as a game I had.

 

So, I tried manually patching it with the infamous patching .exe that's all around the web "ARMA2Free_Patch_111.exe" and what do you know, it comes up saying "Arma 2 Free is not installed on your computer or installation is corrupted."

 

I'm going to go ahead and rule corruption out of the equation, as when I've tried to connect to DayZ (Dayz Commander now recognizes I have it) it comes up as Server Rejected Bad Version or something another. I know Steam is keeping Operation Arrowhead up to date so that brings me to the conclusion that Arma 2 Free is not up to date, but I can't seem to update it with the .exe. I believe I just need to edit the direction of the patch.exe, I'm just not sure how.

 

Problem has been updated even more than that spoiler. I found a direct download link to download Arma 2 Free off of steam. So I have Arma 2 Free up to date, Arma 2 Operation Arrowhead up to date, ran them both, copied addons from Arma 2 Free to Arma 2 OA, downloaded Day Z off of steam, downloaded Day Z Commander though I'm having troubles showing it where Arma 2 Free + OA are, and FINALLY, I am getting either a 'server rejected bad version' thing or something, and this one friggin' error about how I'm missing some community project_e.

Im not sure about that error! I did not think that chopper in dayz!

If you were playing 1 year ago.

The only thing you need update id @DayZ mod and beta patch to version 103718!
That is all that has changed in that time.
