I am not understanding my options as far as server choices. So far I have been playing on Steam and there are not a lot of choices for servers with decent ping. How do I find more servers? Because I purchased from Steam, do I have to play through Steam? I see a lot of servers when I google, but I don't know how to access them. Any info appreciated.

Have you ever considered using DayZ Commander? :)

Its simple to use just go to dayz commanders website click download dayz commander (None of the fake links) install it and then when its open you got a server list,just download what you want under download/update.
