Lag spikes

Recommended Posts

Hey, i'm trying to get back into playing DayZ and i got hit by a huge problem...Whenever i play im getting these lagspikes..The game isn't running smoothly or ''slow'' but it's getting lags usually for like half a second sometimes it's every 10seconds but usually it's like 1-5..Game is unplayable, can't aim properly nothing..

It was running perfectly fine just like 3 months ago and well funny fact with just my 3gb of ram..

AMD Phenom II x4 955BE 3.2Ghz

Radeon HD 6870 1GB GDDR5 Flex Edition

DDR3 8GB RAM..

Any ideas i tried pretty much everything..Btw my PC if fresh reinstalled so it's virus free HDD is like empty and all that.

I used to play Vanila DayZ on 35+FPS when i had my old pc..Now it's jumping between 7-22.

Thanks in advance.

it's likely something to do with temperature. i had a similar issue, checked my laptop temperatures with CPUID and found they were sky-high. give that a go and see what your temperatures are like. there's a lot of programs that check your computer's temperature so give one of them a download and see how it goes :)

HDD: 36°C

GPU: 45°C

CPU: max.55°C

(when playing ofc)

It's ok isn't it? Ok, i actually managed to do something with that i ran some disk defragmentation, and it's running great. Thank you anyway man, here take my beans :P :) :D :beans:

If you experience a lag every 5 seconds while your character is running (every 2 minutes while it stands still), this may be a BE issue.

The workaround, for vanilla DayZ for example, is to choose servers with a small mission file (should be few kb, not more than 50 kb), or ask your server admin to cut down some scripts.txt content. The lag duration is related to overall script code size and "scripts" filter size.

Try to connect to one of my servers, I would like to know the result (Basically I am looking for people with the same issue, to test some workarounds)

Oh i think you're probably right..I tried to play on some server that had like 2000kb mission download at the beggining and i was terribly laggin..Whenever i stood still the lagging problem seemed to be gone but when i started moving it came back..

I clicked on that IP you got in your signature and connected to the UK172 server there. And it's running perfectly fine.

Is there actually any idea how to get rid of the lag no matter how big the download when connecting to the server is?

shorten scripts.txt filter

or

wait for another beta patch release

or...

play on real vanilla DayZ mods (is a 2MB mission file still DayZ ??)

Nonsense. It's not DayZ specific and I gave some workarounds.
