Is It Impossible to Run From Zombies?

It seems like they run at you forever. If you just spawned and one saw you, it seems like it's basically game over.

Whenever one attempts to get loot, there's always like one or two of them around, and since you have no way to defend yourself there's really nothing you can do...

Try and run into some building with a 2nd exit, get most of the Zs to come in then get out fast.. Get out of there LOS (line of sight)... They will search around abit..

nope it's not game over because they can't hit you while running... so just run around till you find a weapon and kill them, revolver, 1911, and shotguns work just fine because of one shot one kill :)

i don't even try to sneak into a general store. i just run in, pulling about 7 zombies and once in i shot them. maye 10 more will come but they also have to die...

i just started but some advice play a night server amount of zombies is really low since there is less then 15 ppl usually and will allow you to find towns or lone houses with 1 or none lurking the area

I usually die when attempting to pick up the weapons, haha. It just seems like luck to me.

Run up a big hill and if they follow then run back down it and the Zombies usually do a big jump and die...Worked for me a few times

If you're near steep hills, lead the zombies down them. Sometimes they can't handle them and just die... no idea why I can run down them and they can't, but hey :D

Don't just run away in a striaght line! Dodge around buildings, climb ladders, etc. If you lose line of sight with the zombie, theres a good chance he'll stop chasing. Just be careful not to aggro move while you do this!

I think you're just very lucky when it comes to zombie spawn locations. Generally, zombies only spawn when a player enters a certain radius of a building/town. They despawn when there are no players nearby. Theoretically, there will always be zombies around when you are in lootable areas unless the server is glitched, regardless of server population.

Now that the zombies adhere to line of sight mostly you want to run so that you are out of line of sight, through buildings is ideal. Once you are out of LOS go prone so that you are as invisible and as quiet as possible and you should be able to lose them.

If you just keep running all the time you will do nothing but constantly attract zombies no matter how many times you go out of LOS.

I had some awesome zombie escape moments in Electro yesterday. The new patch did a lot to improve survivability of an unarmed player who has agroed. The more you practice escaping, the better you get. To reiterate what everyone else is saying: break their line of sight, then try to get hidden. When you run around a corner, the crest of a hill or through a building, hit crouch to crawl run, then go prone in a spot where you can hide and crawl away. The awesome thing about zombies as of this last patch is that they start searching for you where they lost line of sight. It's satisfying to leave a pack of zeds behind scratching their heads.

It's just impossible for me to loose line of sight since the Zeds are as fast as you. You run around a corner, they'll be there in a few miliseconds. Same thing for hills.

I picked up about 15 ZEDS at the airfield and ran away from them well into the woods, Lost them by running around a big rock. The new patch has made it not only possible but hillarious!

Yeah, there's not much you need to do to shake off zombies nowadays. Just use the building trick mentioned earlier.

Yes, I've noticed too that after some distance they stop to chase. I even grew overconfident and started to shoot the last zombies in the back while they return home after stopping running after me.

best thing to get rid of zombies chasing you is running into a building through one door an leaving through another ^^
