Sound

Recommended Posts

Hi, My sound on dayz is really messed up. I hear my footsteps through my left ear piece and on my right the wind, when i run in a straight line and look directly in front i cant hear anything but when i move the camera to the left or right i can. If theres a heli flying around i hear it through my right side only if i look that way and on the left when i look left, so i never know where they are! its annoying please help

Are you using headsets that have virtual surround? I did, and I have the same problem.

I will never buy that commercial crap again. Although my current headset (corsair vengeance 1500v2) also has virtual surround,

but it can be switched to 2.0 stereo which is still better than that virtual surround bullshit.

Yeah it looks like it is using usb so I guess virtual surround also. If you can not find how to change the sound mode in the software,

try to look around in the windows settings for the headset. It should be in hardware&blabla > sound > turtle beach x12 headset.

Skype has its own settings for microphone usage and it usually detects a device with microphone by itself and puts it as default.

However, ArmA 2 does not do that, it picks the microphone that is being used by windows.

What you should do is check if the microphone for your headset is selected as default in the windows settings.

(don't change that setting while ingame, game needs a restart to load those settings again)

@narkoman what bullshit is that: "post your pc specs"..... that doesnt make a bloody difference at all.

If you really want to help people, just get some more knowledge first.
