EU17 Ban after killing player (Friendlyfire?)

Me and my buddy were sniping, player named --- kills my buddy and I sneak up and killed --- on EU17, says I killed player --- from friendly fire. His body sinks into the ground instantly (pretty sure due to the spot we were in) and I was banned from the server. This was around 3:13 Pacific Time. (Yes, he was very well geared)

EDIT: I removed the players name for respect, for all I know the friendly fire could have been the glitch that got me banned from EU17, but if requested or needed I'll add the players name back.

Friendly fire usually means it was killing in debug, which is a bannable offence. Where did this occur?
