CharGen DoS attack after banning.

My server suffered a CharGen denial of service attack from over 1000 different IP addresses early yesterday morning. The attack happened minutes after we banned three suspected hackers from our game server and was targeted at that game server's port.The IP addresses of the three players we banned are:

All three players used a variation of the name: Wing Stop

 

I also have a log of the attacking IP addresses, but it's almost 50,000 lines long. The three player's IP addresses do not appear in the attacking IP's that I was able to log. I am not surprised as it would be foolhardy to use their own IP's when running this sort of attack. I believe I may have been attacked again today, but the server crashed while I was at work and unable to log and stop the attack. I have submitted a tip to the FBI and I recommend everyone ban these players.
