It used to crash on me every 15-20 minutes (give or take) of playing with an error saying "Arma has encountered an error" or something similar. It wouldn't  launch after that, so I had to reboot to keep on playing. I started messing with settings, and as soon as I disabled shadows it never crashed again. I'm using xp sp3, on a c2d 3.16ghz on medium-high settings all extras disabled (AA, post processing etc).
