Transferring Steam Files

I bought and installed Arma 2 Combined Operations on my computer awhile ago. I recently got a new computer, so, on the old computer I went to \steamapps\common and zipped Arma 2 and Arma 2 Combined Operations and compressed those files. Then transferred the files to my new computer to the same directory. Steam won't recognize they are there, though.

I have a very slow download and don't want to have to wait 4 days for them to finish downloading. lol

 

Any thoughts or help would be greatly appreciated.

First try to just click on install in your game library, it should detect the game files and will just install registry and other things. Additionally you can also try verifying your game cache.
