Direct Comm and skype

Just wondering. Does Direct Comm work if you are on Skype? I have tried to speak to a few people but I don't seem to get an answer, ever. Is it the skype or am I just running into jerks?

I think jerks, I got into a group today, and one of the guys I was skyping the other I was direct comming, though my friend I was skyping he had troubles because we couldn't hear him over Direct Comm. (He heard me on both) So I'm not entirely sure but I think it's just people ignoring you..

my friends and I were testing direct channel while also on skype and they could hear me both in game and on skype
