There are thousands of players still active, too many servers but hey, each to their own :)

When the SA comes out the mod will continue, hopefully moving on to ArmA 3.

ah so i just now noticed i need dlc for playing day z :D so i cant play day z when i got only arma 2 ?

you need arma 2 and arma 2 operation arrowhead, DayZ is a mod applied to operation arrowhead

ArmA 3 is already released, and has DayZ. However, the A3 DayZ is extremely lacking, with little to no playerbase. A2 is worth it. Beyond worth it.

To play Dayz you need ArmA 2 and Operation Arrowhead, when sold together they are called combined operations.

You don't need any other DLC, although the BAF gives you better textures.

OA is worth it for sure!
If you like arma2 then OA is great,it is big and has lots of new guns and missions,also you can load arma2 all the dlc and oa it self all from OA so it also is a good hub for all your arma2 stuff,other then dayz.

For dayz you get dayz commander,where you can download maps,and join servers fast and with out much work.

I was a fool to use play with 6 and steam first,but it made getting commander all the more rewarding.

I think arma2 and operation arrow head are worth it for the games them selves.

But the fact that they have the amazing dayz mod to,is just the icing on the cake.

Arma3 might seem good but it has no story mode yet,arma2 is cheap and has the amazing dayz mod.

Get Operation arrow head! IT is cheaper better and has dayz you will not regret it.

If you can run arma2 you should get arma2 that is my motto!
