my server provider told me 1.7.7.1 only supports cheranus

 

will 1.8 support other maps?

The DayZ mod team isn't responsible for anything other than DayZ Chernarus.

 

You will have to ask the Namalsk/Takistani/et cetera mod makers if and when their maps will support 1.8. Most likely, they already do.

1.7.7.1 and 1.8 can work on any map, someone just has to port some of the code across.
