Llewelyn 0 Posted June 21, 2012 Me and my friends have been trying to get geared up on dayz for many hours now, however all we have found are empty cans, or so it feels. The places we go to seem to never change, for example if we find a wheel on the ground at the spawn location, it will still be there hours later and nothing else will have spawned. Even places where we take the loot doesn’t spawn new things either though. So the questions are:What conditions need to be met for loot to re-spawn?Is there a bug in loot spawn right now? Casedude 0 Posted June 21, 2012 If you want to go around and find loot, look for servers that are just starting up again
b501 1 Posted June 21, 2012 pick up the empty cans and loot will respawn eventually
Llewelyn 0 Posted June 21, 2012 Already have map of all the loot, thanks.Joining a server when it starts can't be the only way to get the good loot...And for loot re-spawning when you clear a building, we have tried this, and waited for over an hour to no loot coming back. Do you know how long you need to wait?
Lopz 2 Posted June 21, 2012 1- Pick everything from the spawn place, and drop it somewhere else.2- Move away from the spawn place (50-100m) and wait.3- Check back eventually, if it respawned, pick it all up, drop, repeat.

SystemiK 366 Posted June 21, 2012 More like GetGearedThenGoKillEveryoneElseville.Well, enjoy it while you can. The exploits are not gonna last forever...
Llewelyn 0 Posted June 21, 2012 I dont think this is an exploit, without it how do you get gear? Unless Rocket makes loot respawn on a timer. (Which I think would be awesome.)
silenced (DayZ) 5 Posted June 21, 2012 Loot should despawn 5 minutes after no other player had been in the area and as soon as another one moves in: respawn some stuff. Make it 5 minutes for low yield, 10 minutes for medium yield and 15 minutes for high yield, 30 minutes for military areas.Issues solved.
Ahris 6 Posted June 21, 2012 Instead of loot-camping it's more productive to just move on to another area. It's also a good idea to approach an area with loot slowly, when you approach you will trigger the spawns (Unless someone else was there recently) and it will take a while for the loot to appear. If you enter too fast you'll usually find nothing at all.I might be wrong but it seems like you actually prevent loot from spawning if you're too close.
