[Guide] Install for Steam using Beta patch (inc for mixed install)

1. [install OA]

a) Install OA as per any steam game.

b) Run OA (run it as OA)

2. [this step is if using retail Arma2]

a) Install Arma2 as normal then update to latest version (v1.11?)

b) Copy installed files from wherever you installed it (eg: "C:\program files(x86)/Bohemia Interactive/") into the "...Steam\steamapps\common\" folder, your OA install should have installed into here too (in it's own folder).

c) Disable automatic updates on OA in steam.

c) Run Arma2 from new directory in steam folder.

3. [run OA]

a) Run OA through steam as OA, it should show Arma2 and OA logos at the menu screen.

b) if you can't see both logos, run through steam as Combined Ops

c) Run OA through steam as OA, it should now show both logos.

4. [update OA]

a) download required updates manually, including the latest beta patch.

5. [copy contents of beta to main directory]

a) copy "...\arma 2 operation arrowhead\Expansion\beta\"

into "...\arma 2 operation arrowhead\"

NOTE: you don't need to add any parameters to the launch options in steam.

6. [install DayZ mod using Worrom]

a) download DayZ Updater ( http://worrom.com/ )

b) run DayZ Updater

c) click "Check for Update" and it will autodetect your OA folder and download the latest DayZ and create appropriate folders.

7. [play DayZ]

a) run OA as normal through steam.

b) go into "Expansions" from the OA menu screen and make sure @dayz is enabled.

if it is disabled, enable it and select yes/ok when it asks you to restart the game.

c) at the menu screen you should now see the ArmaII, ArmaII:OA logos, and text saying @dayz

d) play the game!
