US 104 Chicago, everyone died?

Recommended Posts

A friend of mine and I were playing on US 104 Chicago about an hour ago. This message appeared, "Battle Eye Admin: I know guys I am working on it". A few minutes later a friend and I were scouting some small buildings and a helicopter and tank spawned right in front of us. A minute after that both of us instantly died, got a connection error message and then the server went offline. We have been playing for the last two days with over 12 hours of game time into the game. We gathered a crap load of items together and now we have nothing. Is there anything that can be done to correct this error? Secondly how (or why) in the hell can one server / admin have the ability to impact your entire gaming experience like that?

Likely a hacker the admin was trying to combat judging from the message that popped up and you just hadn't seen any sign of it yet, the devs aren't usually in the habit of respawning servers of characters etc due to the time it takes eating into development time. Think rocket may have mentioned it takes about 5 minutes per character or something along those lines? But yeah, most likely a hacker, Dayz is in Alpha at the moment and AFAIK Arma is pretty easy to hack right now, so just take a deep breath and start over is my advice, its happened to me a few times.

I did my best to try to stop it. We have more protection now, but I don't think it matters. Arma 2 is kinda hack heaven it seems.

Had the same problem on my server last night. They hop from popular server to popular server and unload on us.

Fortunately most of our regulars weren't on I don't think, but still had about 60 people die when they insta-killed the entire server =/ this morning.
