A Question

My friend has convinced me to buy and play DayZ and he plays by using Arma 2 and Operation Arrowhead. But i heard that the graphics don't look that great if you do that, If i was to just buy Combined Operations so i can have better graphics can i still play on the same servers as my friend?

graphics only gets down graded if you use arma 2 free + OA. remember, graphics dont make a game. goldeneye is still the best fps and cod4 is still the best cod and ocarina of time is still the best zelda game xD

Well i was planning to use Arma 2 Free anyway xD, so I'm guessing the game performs the same no matter which i choose? and i am still curious to know if the servers are the same

yes, servers are the same.. if you have ArmA 2 free you only need to get Operation Arrowhead

however, you might experience difficulties trying to get it work and Combined Operations is only 10€ more

While I agree the graphics don't make a game, but they play a big part in a game like DayZ. It's not really the mechanics of this game that make it fun, it's the setting, the atmosphere that you are thrust into, with sub-par graphics I feel like my experience wouldn't be as immersive.

Of course if your PC isn't great, you won't be able to use the high settings anyway, so it's depends on your situation.
