blood_faucet1 0 Posted September 14, 2013 So while playing the updated version of dayz I decided that 40-50 + zombies hanging by the dock is just unreal. If you think about it I would imagine most zombies would move were the food is ie. bigger cities, were as the smaller 5-6 house comunities will have maybe 10-20 zombies. I also think that when you kill a zombie with in a town there shouldnt be any more spawning zombies which will give you the ability to clear a town. Then once you leave of within a specific amount of time the zombie respwan can reset. Starting with nothing to protect your self not even a shove or a running block to knock zombies down makes it just impossible to play. Not to mention all the zombies you agro while trying to just find something for portection. Which reminds me I think the player should have a running block so that you can push/knock over zombies if you run into a pack of them.just some thoughts. rossums 2190 Posted September 14, 2013 All these problems are problems with the actual Arma II engine itself, since the mod is based on the Arma II engine it will have all these problems too which can't be fixed.Lucky for you they are all sorted in the standalone!Rocket wants to make areas where the zombies spawn, rather than spawning on players this will mean that the towns and cities will have a lot more than the rural areas - the devs also want to make it possible to 'clear' an area for a while before any other zombies come wandering back, giving you time to hold an area and loot it quietly.There was also talk about melee attacks while you are unarmed and a lot more lower-end, makeshift melee weapons earlier in the game to take a lot of the focus of the high-end guns, knocking zombies back was also talked about but I can't remember if anything came of that discussion.
