mail@borisk.biz 28 Posted June 20, 2012 hello,i have a problem as a server admin... i pay around 40$ in the month to host a server, and i don't can chat with the players who need my help as a admin, i would help new player and this things. can we activate the chat in the server.cgf ? i know chat is unrealistic, but wen can't make anything realistic. you know what i mean? i thing this is a very good game, but the voice chat is bad. please activate the side chat, the blue one. i found many peoples to play with me as a team, but without chat is that a impossible thing. without chat i don't know why i host a expensive server from month to month.. sorry for my bad english, i am from germany :)regards,MrLiNk (germandayz.de)
walrus2517 27 Posted June 20, 2012 I've seen admins chatting in servers so I think it is possible. Their text was white like it was direct communication but I don't think they were even playing, just following the chat.

livilaNic 13 Posted June 20, 2012 Maybe this will help with admin stuff:http://www.dayzmod.com/forum/showthread.php?tid=16364 (if not maybe ask a question in the server section or ask a mod to move this thread there)About side channel though. I don't know. Some servers seem to be able to ask if they can enable it and they are told that they can in fact enable it. Other's seem to assume that nothing can be done and editing the mission file to enable it is forbidden. I'm not sure who you can contact about enabling it though, sorry. thealgerian 2 Posted June 20, 2012 About that, I have a few questions I never seemed to be able to figure it out:-Who can read me when I use group chat? (green one)-At what range is the Direct chat efficient (white one), how far can someone read my messages?

aphex187 52 Posted June 21, 2012 When you in game press M which brings a box up in the top left corner of the screen. Think its the last one you click on which brings up Admin control, in there put your password in and voila you should be able to use Global Chat ;)When i logged in it was kicking me though bahhh! mail@borisk.biz 28 Posted June 21, 2012 ok, i will test it today.one reason why I ask is because I like to give a 10 minute warning before restarting the server. If someones in the wrong place at the time of a restart then that could lead to their death. "The server will be shutting down in 10 minutes for a quick restart. Please reach a safe spot by then"About that' date=' I have a few questions I never seemed to be able to figure it out:-Who can read me when I use group chat?
