Paper map

Recommended Posts

Quick suggestion:

How about having a paper map that actually looks like it could be an item in the gameworld, instead of the current one you find as loot which just looks like part of the game's UI?

Just a standard, paper map with no markers on it or anything. To orient themselves, players would have to go to the nearest town, look at a signpost, and figure out where they are on the map that way.

Maybe they could even increase the likelihood of finding maps slightly (a lot of people just look up maps on the internet anyway) but make it so that some are in better condition than others. For instance, some might be torn, others might be damaged by weather, dirt, or fire... etc. Finding partially damaged maps could be quite common, while finding a map in perfect condition could be more rare.

I think this would a nice little change to boost immersion a bit and the feeling of being in a believable gameworld.

I believe I suggested a similar idea but this gets the Beloozero seal of approval.

Not a bad idea, but I find maps rare in general to begin with.

I've only found two.

People will also just use a third party site for a map anyways.

I didn't see anything similar on the recent search history *shrug* I guess with the amount of suggestions being posted daily' date=' repeats are inevitable.

You're right about that, but I still think this idea would be a nice touch for those who don't just look up external maps on the internet.
